Director's Message

The Centre for Corporate Governance and Financial Policy (CCGFP) aspires to be an internationally recognized centre of corporate governance excellence, by producing high-quality academic research, and by providing graduate education, executive training, and consulting services. The CCGFP diseminates corporate governance research produced by academics at HKBU through its working paper series. Some of this research has been quoted in newspaper and magazine articles worldwide, and has been published in internationally recognized academic journals. In its effort to remain abreast of international developments in corporate governance research, the CCGFP invites leading academics from some of the most prestigious universities all over the world for an annual corporate governance workshop at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). In graduate education, HKBU's MSc Programme in Corporate Governance & Directorship is the first of its kind in the world.

Jointly with the Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies (CHKLC), the Centre is organizing the Hong Kong Corporate Governance and ESG Excellence Awards. The event recognizes companies listed in Hong Kong with the highest standards in the practice of corporate governance beyond regulatory requirements. The invaluable experience gained by collaborating with the CHKLC has enabled us to devise a rigorous scoring scheme, based on eight clearly defined criteria, thus ensuring an independent, unbiased, and transparent award process. The awards aim to help companies from Hong Kong and the Mainland continuously improve corporate governance standards.
