Mission

The Centre for Corporate Governance and Financial Policy (CCGFP) was established in November 2004 by the School of Business, HKBU. The mission of this cross-disciplinary Centre is to improve the quality of public debates and policy on major corporate governance and related financial policy issues, and to promote best practice in the area. These will be achieved through high-quality research, publications, education, executive training, assessment, and consultancy activities covering Hong Kong, the Mainland China and other nearby economies. It aspires to be a centre of excellence on corporate governance studies in the region.

Major Initiatives
  • Building the needed infrastructures and platforms for supporting various activities;
  • Promoting, assisting and undertaking in-depth academic and policy research on corporate governance and related financial policy issues;
  • Recruiting and promoting scholars and experts to participate in the Centre's activities and to facilitate scholarly exchanges;
  • Developing benchmarking and best practice guidelines for corporate governance;
  • Organizing and participating in forums, seminars and international conferences, etc. in Hong Kong and Mainland China;
  • Organizing professional training and senior executive programmes for promoting and disseminating relevant knowledge and skills;
  • Undertaking consultancy projects and contracted studies;
  • Sponsoring and publishing quality research reports, journal articles, case studies, books, and working papers; and
  • Promoting exchanges and collaborations among academics, practitioners, research centres, corporations, professional organizations, regulators, policy makers, and other stakeholders.
