CG & ESG Excellence Awards 

The Centre for Corporate Governance and Financial Policy (CCGFP) and the Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies (CHKLC) have jointly organized the Hong Kong Corporate Governance and ESG Excellence Awards since 2007. The Awards programme adopted its present name in 2021 to reflect the increasing importance of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) to listed issuers and the investing public.

The Awards are conferred annually and all publicly listed companies in Hong Kong are eligible. They are designed to encourage improvements in corporate governance, achieving commitment to shareholder rights, compliance, integrity, fairness, responsibility, accountability, transparency, board independence and leadership, and corporate social responsibility. Over 170 Hong Kong listed companies have participated in the competition over the past 17 years. The requirement for entrants to self-assess and comments by the judging panel gives companies an opportunity to make a thorough and comprehensive review of their corporate governance and/or sustainability performance. This has delivered great value to companies, and has allowed them to identify their strengths and plan for improving organizational effectiveness.
